Philosophy

Our primary focus is on educating the learners, as for them to attain academic achievement through learning-centered education, outcome-based education and constructivism. To become a graduate with wisdom, learners combine what they have learned so far with the new knowledge, and with experiential learning activities. The role of a lecturer in the learning process is shifted from an information provider to a coach or a facilitator creating challenge-based activities. The curriculum strives to develop graduates with adequate competencies in medical bioinformatics, who can apply their knowledge and skills in conducting researching, systematically managing data and communicating knowledge in the field. The graduates are to be moral, ethical, academically and professionally responsible.

Objectives

  1. demonstrate proper ethical conduct for research and scientific professions

  2. demonstrate basic computational, statistic and mathematical techniques in analysis, management, and operation of bioinformatics data professionally

  3. demonstrate analysis using proper bioinformatics, problem solving, creative thinking, formulate ideas and data analysis methods in medical scientific researches

  4. perform effective English communication to translate concepts and knowledge of medical bioinformatics to audiences in both writing and verbal

  5. be able for searching, analyzing, creating and presenting knowledge in medical bioinformatics effectively
